Aypc
is a regional youth forum, to bring together youth leaders from nigeria and other african countries together to discuss issue on how
peace can exist in africa. Flagging a peace movement. This programme is to promote a culture
of peace as its faces the culture of war, which is surrounding us. The youth exchange programme during the event would serve
to raise awareness in different communities on conflict and our role in relation to them. The programme would give opportunity
for participant to express their vision about the topic, taking account of their different backgrounds, in the morning volunteers
will split into various groups, workshops, lectures, visit of project and cultural excursion & open mind session during
the afternoon and evening.
Objectives
• to express values
such as tolerance, respect,inclusion, and non-violence.
• to show their performance to the public
• to create an environment were youths can work together in community development projects.
• to provide youths with internal understanding of the current situation of african conflict and the role
role un plays.
• to create an atmosphere for youths as well as the local communities to interact and live together and
also learn from each other and plan different activities together.
• to express their their mind during the world press briefing. • to give the opportunity to study
much more about nigerian culture and backgrounds and tourist places like –erin-ijesha waterfall,ikogosi warm spring,olumo
rock. Participants
The most important thing is to host participants who are highly motivated and who has an intercultural experience,
thus we encourage organizations to send youths who are between 18-24 who can share their cultural experience and learn from
other part of the world. Since the program is base on community development we expect to have youth leaders with this experience
who would be able to head some sessions like ,workshops,trainning,interactive sessions. Participant are to participate in
all sessions and be ready to work at the congress. So we wish all participant from all african countries a good stay in nigeria, the country of hope. A. Y. P. C. M. A. D. 2004
